Tasting Note:
Pale crimson, clean, and bright clarity. Aromas of jicama, strawberry, raspberry and a hint of carnation; fresh, fruity, slightly sweet and with good acidity.
Vinification:
Vines are 18-25 years old. Grapes are kept cold throughout picking and fermentation for optimal fruit. All stainless steel, no barrel ageing.
Pairing:
As aperitif, with salmon, hard cheeses, and light sauces.
The Winery:
Founded by Luis Angelo Cetto, history says that Cetto started the wine business in 1928, bought a number of small wineries in the 1980s, and now he is responsible for more than half of the country’s wine. Cetto cultivates 2,700 acres of vineyards in Baja California; also tequila and olive oil.
L. A. Cetto is one of the most renowned and oldest wineries in Mexico. In addition to the vineyards, L. A. Cetto offers gardens, a picnic area, wine tasting room, tours as well as a tasting boutique in Ensenada. Today, with over 90 years of tradition and quality, L.A.
