The Ingredients:
There’s no secret to crafting quality products: Distillat uses exceptional raw materials. The rhum base comes from Panama. The master distiller has worked there for over 50 years. He knows everything that’s in his barrels. He created, custom-made and at the request of the producer, a magnificent blend of different rhum barrels.
Distillat rhum is produced in Panama using sugarcane grown on plantations near the distillery. The cane is cut and pressed in mills to extract the juice. It is then filtered to remove any residue. To ensure optimal aroma concentration, the distillate is then placed in evaporators, a crucial step that eliminates excess water. The resulting molasses is then carefully fermented at rigorously controlled temperatures before being distilled in a column still.

The Spirit:   
Its beautiful amber color comes from its 7-year aging in American oak barrels previously used for Bourbon production. No coloring added, just natural oak maturation!

You will discover delicate aromas of apricot and vanilla punctuated by a slightly herbaceous touch. Its finish is smooth, lingering, and elegant.

Review from Quebec Rhum:   
On the nose, it’s light, fresh, floral, and reminiscent of pastry. The Labrador tea is clearly present. It’s also generous with its vanilla aromas, finishing with notes of lightly golden caramel. A fresh and inviting nose for this warm summer day.

On the palate, it has a lovely, smooth texture. The palate also echoes the various aromas detected on the nose, despite a very prominent vanilla note that is impossible to miss. The floral character is pleasant and well-balanced.

The Producers:
Having both worked in the wonderful world of wines and spirits for over twenty years, Louis-Philippe and Éric-Gabriel of Quebec, decided in 2022 to embark on this exhilarating and somewhat audacious adventure to create Distillat. Their patience and convictions have kept them on the right path, despite the obstacles and the eagerness to realize this magnificent project. They have never lost sight of their goal: to offer spirits enthusiasts fine, unique, and high-quality products. Distillat is, above all, a story of passion, sharing, and integrity.

Why the Wolf?

E-Corp met these producers while on a trip to Chile hosted by our mutual vendor, Polkura! Allison, Louis-Philippe, and Éric-Gabriel hit it off in the way that all friendships are made in the alcohol industry- over wine! Subsequently met up in Paris and the rest is history.
